Lightshow - Mindset - Closer to the Ground Kill - Know Me

What real people think of "Closer to the Ground" from all over the world at garageband.com.

Awesome!

This is a f*****g great song. Harmony vocals are absolutely killer, arrangement, instrumentation, production are all there. I know the GB guidelines say to be "constructive" in either praise or criticism, but sorry guys not this time--you gotta know you're on to something really exceptional here. Best of luck and please make sure to get this into the hands of everyone you possibly can. This should be on the radio, now!

Good Sound

This would make a great theme song for a tv series - it has that sort of feel to it. I like the vocals and melody. It is a very pleasant piece. Don't get the idea that I think it is trite or anything like that, it's just fun to hear. If you keep this stuff up I think you could become famous - not Beatles famous, but certainly, Tom Petty famous...

Industry ready.

Your vocals were pretty good. Everything sounded great. Guitars complemented each other well with their different parts. Sounds a lot like top 40 rock, so it has some industry potential. Melody was catchy.

Theo Fleury would love this!

This sounds like a professionally recorded song. Well done. The melody is pretty darn good, actually. I didn't expect something with so much TUNE to it. Most bands of this ilk couldn't string together a likeable melody if their daddies depended on it. But you have risen above the cak and have overcome! Well done! The vocals themselves are very well done - nice vibrato! The band sounds very tight. I diggitty-dig this song!

Harmonies beat real audio shock!!!

Quite professional recording, which is always a plus in my view. it's pretty cool the way the harmonies come in right at the kick off! it rocks!! good quality radio stuff. This is a comment that you'll see a lot of in my reviews because if we're successful at that then we're pretty much guaranteed success elsewhere. It's hard for me to hear everything that's being sung because of the real peice of crap that is Real Audio, but it sounds great

I needed to turn my volume down when I listened to your song, that's a good sign for your recording quality. Good vocals and melody. I liked the ending 'now I found my way' Good job!

Competent describes this one.

A very strong song melodically, although I'm not sure I'm into this modern rock alternative sound vocally (I like Motorhead). Nonetheless, the music is strong. Reminds me a little of Whipping Boy. Production is low budget sounding, but people who judge songs based on the production are jerks. A very competent alternative rawk song.

Really sweet track.

Nice sound on the guitars. Drums sound great, well mic'd, well played. wow, great vocals, wish it was a bit easier to understand the lyrics, raise the volume in the mix. Great use of background vocals. I could easily hear this stuff on the radio. Nice breaks, good arrangement. Flows very nicely. Overall, an excellent song.

Wonderfully played through

This song has a sappy feel to it. Kinda sounds like something creed would be playing. The vocals are good and so is the overal sound of the song. you guys should be very proud of yourself for creating such a beautifully performed song.

hooky

hella hooky vocal melodies. i don't know if i care for how the vocals are treated in the mix... maybe its the real player, but its sounding like that Cher harmonizer thing. overall sound is well-produced rock. good work.

Get Their Number.

Everything about this was great. The vocal was on and the harmony in the chorus worked well. The drummer mixed it up alot which kept it moving. The guitars were well executed even if they did seem a bit "heavy" for an upbeat song. Try to "lighten up" and I think it'll all go together.

College Music, eh? Still, not Bad!

Sounds like college band music to me. Lotsa vibrato and such. Still, the verses are really cool and the changes actually go somewhere. Bridge sounds pretty cool. I'm not much for the warbly shaky voice thing, but it works for this song. Over all, this is just not my genre, but it sounds like good music nonetheless.

I really liked the melody in this song. This is the first one im putting on my playlist and follow the band. You guys rock. The vocals are pretty good. Real Player always takes some sound quality away, but I'm sure this album will be a hit someday. -zaCh-

Cool

This is a pretty cool song, like the intro, the vocals are pretty good. Could be just a little bit tighter but they're good. Melody is nice and strong which makes for a good sound. Could have a little better recording, that would make this song kick ass! GREAT SONG! I REALLY LIKE IT!

An optimistic Maynard

cool begining cadence! nice chord progression. great harmonies! nice Bridge. your drummer is smoking! The singer reminds me of Maynard from TOOL, but not the music. Can't quite pinpoint who they sound like. that's always a good thing. It's Radiofriendly, yet original enough to be cool. right on guys!

this is an awesome song. The melody is a good hook that keeps the listener hooked into the song. I really like the drums in the begining and ending on that was just brilliant also its like a song that goes full circle. Beautiful.

K-Rock worthy..

Sounds like your typical K-rock band.. Vocals are nice and in tune.. I would perfer a more raw/sloppy/punchy/grungy sound with the rhythm Guitars.. The ending could be a little better, sounds weak for such a powerful song...

Best song I have reviewed today!

Love it...best song I have reviewed today...took me only 10 seconds that I knew I was going to like it. Great lyrics and drums. I like the way the song shifts gears throughout...great sign of a good band. Guitars are solid...still waiting for the solo...there is annoying sound coming from the drums near the end...sounds like the drummer is hitting a jar of rocks? :) Vocals are good...at first I wanted them to be more hard edge, but for this song they were great. Song was very catchy...the ending can be a bit smoother.

yeah....

Great band! Good energy right from the start with some interesting drum and bass at the beginning. The lead vocals are spot on, with tight harmonies backing them up. From what I can hear on this crappy audio stream the production seems to be pretty good and the track has been well recorded - makes a pleasant change from a lot of stuff you get to review on gb.com!! It would have been nice to hear some echo on the snare occasionally - I reckon it would have enhanced the groove a little, but all in all a really good song by a band who sound like they're having a lot of fun. Keep on keeping on...

Good

Nice melodic rock. Good production. Cool energies, and guitar work. The vocals are well sung and in tune. Someone here has a good ear for harmonies, though I would appreciate some dessonance in the harmonies, to stimulate the ear. Just my view though... Overall good. Good luck!

It's a-LIVE

The vocals are good, melodic, but it reminds me of Live too much. The melody is cool, really like the begining part best. Good drum/guitar harmony. Good drumming in general. The sound is good, good production. Polished a little too much for my taste though.

Mixed blessing

Cool beat right from the start. I like the chord progression and the overlapping guitar parts. It sounds like really good pop. So on to the review. Great singing. Great guitar playing. Still cranking out a great beat in the drums. The bass is tight to the drums like it should be. You have a chance at making it in this world of anything different is bad.

Awesome intro...

Well...its not that I dont like this song...just not really my style...a little too poppy for me...the singer has a great voice and the guitarist and drummer are very very good...ahhh...theres the bass...hes good too...the harmonies are real cool, though I would recommend the singer use a little vibrato maybe...the sound was incredible....am very jealous...take care...you will go far

Effective

Wow, it must be my lucky night, because I get four decent tunes in a row. The vocals and the melody are engaging and I really like the bass undertow that pushes this song along. Very nice outro. There isn't a lot I can really single out here, but it is an effective tune that just lulls you in with a good hook. Nice job.

tight song

cool drum beat. kinda reminds me of the drums from Tom Petty's "don't come around here no more". but the song totally goes in a different direction. Nice Harmony. very tight song. good guitar sounds.
